To create a firm and even base for your Chocolatey Campfire Delight S’mores Bars, it's essential to start with the right approach. Begin by combining your graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. For the best results, use finely crushed graham crackers, as larger pieces can result in an uneven texture. Aim for a consistency similar to wet sand when mixing. This ensures that the crust holds together well once baked.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

⅓ cup granulated sugar

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup mini marshmallows

½ cup milk chocolate bars, broken into pieces

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the bars later.

Make the Crust: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir until the crumbs are fully coated with the butter. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form a solid crust layer.

Bake the Crust: Place the crust in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until it is lightly golden and has set. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

Add Chocolate Layer: Once the crust has cooled slightly, even sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips across the warm crust. Distribute the broken pieces of milk chocolate bars on top of the chocolate chips. The residual warmth from the crust will help the chocolate pieces start to melt, creating a rich layer.

Layer the Marshmallows: Evenly spread the mini marshmallows over the melted chocolate layer. Feel free to adjust the quantity according to your preference for gooeyness!

Broil for Golden Top: Carefully place the assembled bars under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the marshmallows achieve a beautiful golden brown color. Watch them closely during this step to prevent burning!

Cool Down: Once the marshmallows are perfectly toasted, take the pan out of the oven. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for approximately 30 minutes. If you used parchment paper, gently lift them out once cooled.

Cut and Serve: With a sharp knife, cut the bars into squares or rectangles. You can serve them warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your deliciously decadent S’mores Bars!
