Ingredients

2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or a homemade version)

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

12 slider buns

Coleslaw (optional, for topping)

Pickles (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in your slow cooker. If there’s any excess fat, trim it off for a healthier dish.

Create the Sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, chopped onion, minced garlic, brown sugar, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Combine Ingredients: Pour the prepared BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, ensuring that each piece of chicken is generously coated with the sauce.

Slow Cook the Chicken: Cover the slow cooker and select the cooking setting. Set to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The chicken is ready when it becomes tender and can easily be shredded with a fork.

Shred the Chicken: After cooking, carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Using two forks, shred the chicken meat into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, mixing it well with the remaining BBQ sauce.

Toast the Slider Buns: While the chicken finishes soaking up the flavor, preheat your broiler. Place the slider buns on a baking sheet and toast them lightly under the broiler for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn golden brown. Keep a close watch to prevent burning.

Assemble the Sliders: Take the toasted slider buns and spoon a generous portion of the BBQ chicken mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. If desired, add a layer of coleslaw on top for extra texture and flavor. Finally, place the top half of the bun over each slider to complete.

Serve: Serve the sliders immediately, accompanied by pickles on the side for a delightful crunch. Enjoy your delicious Sweet & Smoky BBQ Chicken Sliders!

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 6-8 hours (including cook time) | Servings: Makes 12 sliders
