Ingredients

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded

1/2 cup black beans, rinsed and drained

1/2 cup corn kernels (fresh or frozen)

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

1/4 cup salsa

1 teaspoon taco seasoning

1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 small avocado, diced (optional)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C), ensuring it's ready for baking as you prepare your wraps.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, black beans, corn, shredded cheese, salsa, and taco seasoning. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and evenly coated with the salsa.

Roll Out the Dough: Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean, flat surface. You will see it is divided into triangles. Use a rolling pin to slightly flatten each triangle, which will make them easier to work with.

Fill the Dough: Take about 2 tablespoons of the prepared chicken mixture and place it on the wide end of each triangle. For an extra layer of flavor, feel free to add a few pieces of diced avocado on top of the mixture.

Wrap It Up: Starting at the wide end, carefully roll the dough around the filling, tucking in the sides as you go to prevent any of the filling from spilling out. Position each wrapped burrito seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Apply Egg Wash: To achieve a lovely golden-brown finish, brush the tops of each filled wrap with the beaten egg using a pastry brush.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Keep an eye on them until they turn golden brown and the dough is thoroughly cooked through.

Serve: Once baked, remove the wraps from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Just before serving, garnish each burrito with a sprinkle of freshly chopped cilantro. For an extra kick, serve with additional salsa on the side for dipping.
