Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/3 cup pecans, finely chopped

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup, or lightly grease it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Glaze: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, and fresh lemon juice. Whisk these ingredients together until they are well blended. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste to enhance the flavor.

Coat the Salmon: Arrange the salmon fillets on your prepared baking sheet, skin side down. Using a brush, generously apply the maple glaze over each fillet, ensuring they are well coated. Set aside a small portion of the glaze for later.

Add the Pecans: Evenly sprinkle the finely chopped pecans on top of the glazed salmon fillets. Gently press the pecans into the glaze to help them stick.

Bake the Salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets. You’ll know the salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork and the pecans are lightly toasted.

Glaze Again: In the final 5 minutes of baking, take the remaining glaze and brush it over the salmon fillets to add extra flavor and a beautiful, glossy finish.

Serve: Once baked to perfection, remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a couple of minutes. Just before serving, garnish the fillets with freshly chopped parsley for an appealing touch.

Enjoy: Serve your delightful maple glazed pecan salmon with your choice of accompaniments, such as steamed seasonal vegetables or a crisp, refreshing salad.
