Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon salt

2 large eggs, at room temperature

½ cup whole milk, at room temperature

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled to room temperature

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup pure maple syrup

1 cup powdered sugar

Additional ground cinnamon for dusting

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray to ensure easy release.

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Whisk them together until well incorporated and there are no lumps.

Combine the Wet Ingredients: In a separate mixing bowl, beat the eggs until smooth. Next, add the whole milk, melted butter (ensure it’s cooled), and vanilla extract. Mix well until all the wet ingredients are fully combined.

Combine Both Mixtures: Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, gently folding them together using a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix just until combined; it's okay if the batter is a bit lumpy—avoid overmixing to keep the donuts light and fluffy.

Fill the Donut Pan: Use a spoon or pastry bag to fill each cavity of the prepared donut pan about 2/3 full with batter, ensuring an even distribution.

Bake the Donuts: Place the filled donut pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Maple Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the pure maple syrup and powdered sugar until smooth and silky. If you find the glaze is too thick for dipping, add a little more maple syrup, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.

Glaze the Donuts: Once the donuts are completely cooled, take each one and dip the top half into the maple glaze, allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl. Place the glazed donuts back on the wire rack.

Dust with Cinnamon: While the glaze is still wet, lightly sprinkle additional ground cinnamon over the top of each glazed donut for a beautiful and flavorful finish.

Serve and Enjoy: Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving. These delightful donuts make a perfect pairing with a hot cup of coffee or tea for an enjoyable treat!
