Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon olive oil (plus more for sautéing)

2 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, freshly grated

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 cups broccoli florets

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a small mixing bowl, thoroughly whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Ensure that all ingredients are well blended. Reserve about 1/4 cup of this marinade for later use and set it aside.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish. Pour the majority of the marinade over the fillets, ensuring each piece is generously coated. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours if you want to enhance the flavor.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the salmon.

Prepare the Broccoli: While the salmon is marinating, bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and either steam or blanch them until they turn bright green and are just tender, approximately 3-4 minutes. Immediately transfer the broccoli to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process. Once cooled, drain the broccoli and set it aside.

Bake the Salmon: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade and place them skin-side down on the parchment-lined sheet. Lightly drizzle a bit of the reserved marinade over each fillet. Season them with salt and pepper to taste. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Glaze the Broccoli: In a medium skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the blanched broccoli and sauté for about 2-3 minutes to warm it up. Drizzle the reserved marinade over the broccoli and toss to evenly coat. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is heated through and slightly caramelized.

Serve: On individual plates, serve the honey-glazed salmon fillets alongside the warm, glazed broccoli. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds over the broccoli for an extra crunch. Include lemon wedges on the side for a zesty and fresh squeeze over the salmon and broccoli.

                Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 4

Presentation Tips: For an appealing presentation, consider serving the salmon on a bed of rice or quinoa, with the broccoli arranged artistically around it, and finishing off with a drizzle of additional marinade for a glossy, appetizing look.
