Creamy Tomato Basil Tortellini

12 oz cheese tortellini

2 tbsp olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt, to taste

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Cook the Tortellini: Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to the package instructions until they're al dente. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

    Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is shimmering, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant but not browned.
