Ingredients

1 cup creamy almond butter

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/2 cup coconut flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free if preferred)

1/4 cup chopped almonds (optional, for added crunch)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper, allowing some overhang on the sides to facilitate easy removal later.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy almond butter, pure maple syrup, and pure vanilla extract. Using a spatula or whisk, mix the ingredients vigorously until the mixture is smooth and well integrated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the coconut flour, baking soda, and fine sea salt. Ensure that the dry ingredients are evenly mixed.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually incorporate the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients. Stir continuously until a thick batter forms. If you find the mixture too dense, add a splash of almond milk to achieve your desired consistency.

Fold in Chocolates and Nuts: Carefully fold in the dark chocolate chips and, if using, the chopped almonds. Make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter for optimal flavor in every bite.

Spread and Bake: Transfer the batter into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it out evenly into the corners. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The bars are ready when they have set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and Cut: Once baked, remove the baking dish from the oven and allow the bars to cool for about 10 minutes. Use the parchment paper overhang to carefully lift the bars out of the dish and let them cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, slice into squares or bars according to your preference.

Serve and Enjoy: You can serve the bars immediately or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. They make for a delicious snack option both on their own or with a dollop of extra almond butter for added richness!

Presentation Tips: For an elegant presentation, dust lightly with cocoa powder or shredded coconut before serving, and arrange the bars on a decorative platter.
