Ingredients

1 pint cherry tomatoes

8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)

1 bunch fresh basil leaves (approximately 20-30 leaves)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons honey (optional, for sweetness)

Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Wooden or metal skewers (6-inch or 8-inch)

Instructions

Prepare the Balsamic Glaze:

    - In a small saucepan, pour in the balsamic vinegar. If you prefer a touch of sweetness, add the honey.

      - Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Once it starts simmering, reduce the heat to low.

        - Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until it thickens slightly; it should coat the back of a spoon when ready.

          - Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the glaze cool completely. This process will enhance its flavor and viscosity.

            Assemble the Skewers:

              - Take a skewer and start by sliding on a cherry tomato.

                - Next, add a fresh basil leaf, followed by a mozzarella ball.

                  - Repeat this sequence until the skewer is filled, leaving about an inch of space at both ends for easy handling.

                    - Cap off the skewer with one last cherry tomato and a basil leaf to create an appealing visual presentation.

                      Season the Skewers:

                        - Once the skewers are assembled, place them on a plate. Drizzle lightly with extra virgin olive oil for richness.

                          - Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavors.

                            Serve:

                              - Arrange the skewers on a beautiful serving platter, creating a vibrant display.

                                - Finish the presentation by drizzling the cooled balsamic glaze generously over the arranged skewers.

                                  - For added enjoyment, consider serving a small bowl of the remaining balsamic glaze on the side for dipping.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 8 skewers

Presentation Tips: To elevate the dish, use a colorful platter and garnish with a few extra basil leaves around the skewers for a fresh touch.
