Ingredients

1 cup warm milk (110°F to 115°F)

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

¼ cup granulated sugar

⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced

½ cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ cup raisins (optional)

For the glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2-3 tablespoons milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Mix gently and let it sit for approximately 5 minutes until it becomes bubbly and foamy, indicating that the yeast is activated.

      Mix Wet Ingredients:

Add the melted butter, large egg, salt, and the remaining ¼ cup of sugar to the yeast mixture. Stir vigorously until everything is well combined.

          Incorporate Flour:

Gradually incorporate 3 ½ cups of all-purpose flour into the mixture using a wooden spoon or a dough hook attachment. Mix until a sticky dough forms. If the dough remains too sticky, incrementally add more flour until it begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.

              Knead the Dough:

Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead for 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

                  First Rise:

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

                      Prepare the Filling:

In a separate bowl, combine the diced apples, packed brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Stir until all the ingredients are well mixed. If using, fold in the raisins.

                          Roll Out the Dough:

After the first rise, gently punch down the dough to release air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle approximately ¼ inch thick.

                              Add the Filling:

Evenly spread the apple filling mixture over the rolled-out dough. Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.

                                  Slice the Rolls:

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces, roughly 1 inch thick. Arrange the sliced rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring there’s a bit of space between each roll.

                                      Second Rise:

Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and allow them to rise for another 30 minutes, or until they puff up.

                                          Preheat the Oven:

While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

                                              Bake the Rolls:

Place the rolls in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and are fully cooked through.

                                                  Make the Glaze:

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until you achieve the desired smooth consistency.

                                                      Glaze the Rolls:

Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly for a few minutes. Drizzle the prepared glaze generously over the warm rolls.

                                                          Serve and Enjoy:

Serve the rolls warm or at room temperature for a delightful treat. Enjoy your delicious Cinnamon Apple Bliss Rolls!
